The key is to level it out.
I strongly suggest not setting it up after..... A few....... Beers........
18 foot intex, $200. Upgraded sand filter $190.
Lot of fun in the backyard. It's advertised as 4 feet deep but that's bullshit, 3.2feet water level.

Water should be about 61 degrees tomorrow afternoon. C u all around 5:27pm.....Hahaha

I just bought an Intex for our backyard and now it looks like we'll have to get a permit for it...ridiculous! It is a temporary pool with no deck.

Yep, its Illinois. Even the City Inspector was like WTF.
I think the 2014 law requires any pool with more than 2,000 gallons needs a permit.
Complete bullshit. It’s all about their money.

I had a perfectly fine GFCI outlet in the garage with an outdoor extension cord running right to the pump ( I think its 120 )
Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump - Walmart.com

Last year they made me dig a line, throw down some ( I think he used pvc piping ) with the wire running through that to a new outlet attached to my fence.
Even the inspector said there was nothing wrong with my cord set up but the law is the law.
O well, Fuck it

Yikes, I think this cheap $370 pool is going to end up costing over $1k and a few headaches.

What a crappy season for the temporary pool. I swam in it maybe six times, and only four of those times was the water even really comfortable. The cost to fill it really wasn't that bad. Our water bill was about $50 higher than normal. I was thinking it would be much more expensive to fill it.

And next year, I'll make sure I make it a bit more level and also straighten out the bottom of the pool. The pool was on a slight angle, and some of the poles were leaning by the end of the season. And the bottom of the pool had a lot of creases in it, and made it harder to vacuum. I was also an idiot for not making sure the drain plug was completely out from under the pool. Draining it is going to be a bitch because I don't think I have enough space to attach the hose to the drain plug. I also don't think I can move the drain plug because the pressure/weight from all the water makes it impossible to move.

I wonder if I can use the pool's pump to pump out most of the water. I don't see why it would be a problem...as long as it isn't sucking in a bunch of air.
