It's not that. Cranes should be used to the sides where the outriggers are at. If it has 4 equal sides, which this one doesn't it wont matter. Truck cranes flip all the time cause people use them to lift over the front or back. Plus he had enough boom down, he should of been coming down on the line 10 feet sooner.

Unless its stated by the manufacture, you can lift from all sides except the front. You still have a working radius which would be the center of rotation of the crane to the center of gravity of the load.

But it's quite obvious the operator is a moron here.
