Rent a truck from them or home depot. 20 bucks plus gas for the first 75 minutes.

Really awesome projects that have been included in this thread! Makes me want to go outside and fix a couple of things around the house that I've neglected for too long.

Stupid question, but those look like 2x4's.... are they strong enough laid that way? I would assume you would want 2x6 minimum... again I am no carpenter

It's pretty strong. The problem was the grass and concrete was uneven. The boards in the grass are on the ground and the ones by the concrete have about a 4-5" gap.

This is an early stage photo, but added supporting boards (2x10") and bricks. Did that with every board basically.

Had a large part of a crab apple tree fall in my side yard last Friday. So Saturday I went to town, taking out the entire tree, the one behind it, and a good part of a tree up front.

Catalyst:

Made me get out the chainsaw and take it all down and then some:

Just the start of all the landscaping I'll need to do...

Its not a numerical time frame to complete a project... its how many beers it'll take to finish

worst part about painting a deck is you basically have to do it again next year, and the next and the next

I want to paint mine when its done. Kind of wanted to do a color instead of a stain. Im afraid the winters, when we shovel it, will jack it up.

Just had two huge trees taken out of my yard... They were way too large and right next to the house though so I left those to the professionals.

I've done a few things since accuiring my new house in Kentucky in the beginning of June.

The first was discovering that there were no drains in 2 window wells after like the nastiest storm they've ever seen down here. We found out in talking to the previous owner and neighbors that the owners before the people we got the house from added large windows in the basement for egress so they could put bedrooms down there, the origional windows were small and 100% above ground. So I got busy and dug out the well all the way down to the drain tile, added a drain, and rocked all the way around it. What a pain in the ass that was, but I know it's right now.

I added some cabinets in the laundry room to replace a single wire shelf. Pretty cheap upgrade and really makes it look better and have much more usable space.

My garage door enters from the side of my house, not the front. So, my garage has windows in it that face the front of the house. I've never liked seeing in a garage like that, and blinds get dirty as fuck when in a garage. So I bought a frosted window film. Very happy with it. It still let's light in, won't get dirty like blinds, blocks people from seeing in the garage and offers uv protection for the cars inside.

I have some pics I'll try to post when I'm at a computer.

Still a lot left I want to do though.

My dad is moving and asked if I wanted his old workbench. It's built like a brick shithouse and has been around nearly 30 years. I used this thing all the time growing up so I had to have it.

His old vise came with the workbench, fucking thing weighs 140pds.

Don't mind the shitty particle board on top, his work surface was pretty beat-up, so I put my old workbench surface on top for now.
