Ya, it is a lot of stuff crammed in a small package. There are a lot of things you can't even see until you remove the accessories, the intake plenums, and so on. Hidden oil coolers, the fuel cooling system, and so on. I'll get more pics as we tear it down. As well as the stock parts versus the aftermarket stuff.

Pratt, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but those plugs will need to be replaced every 10K miles or so. Maybe even less with upgraded turbos. These motors eat plugs.

Maybe from a long while back. Anyway, Pratt does more exciting things to his car much more quickly than I do, so mine wouldn’t be nearly as interesting.

ya, I am aware they go through plugs and coils. I hope that I can at least make it an every other year project. Lower the engine some and remove some things and it will bring it from a nightmare to a horrible job. lmao

BMW goes through plugs and coils too. But at least with that I can change them all out in less than an hour taking my time. The 911 though ugh

Soooo the last two nights Eric and I spent a couple hours tearing the motor down. Here is the issues I had and the things we found.

When I was taking things apart I noticed hardware for the transaxle was not super tight. The trans mount to the car was like finger tight. So the thud I heard when I engaged the clutch was not a bad trans mount but two loose bolts that hold it to the car. So I was pretty sure at least the trans was out of the car. Sure enough, when we took the transaxle off the motor the clutch looked almost brand new. But it was a stock clutch so it needs a replacement anyways.

There was a nest from a mouse under the intake plenum. Luckily no wires of hoses were chewed on.

There was a leaking fitting for the coolant temp sensor. There were also two of the coolant pipes that were loose and weeping coolant. So biting the bullet and deciding to have the billet pipes welded in was the right move. A couple of the coolant hoses were attached to the pipes well. So we are just replacing all of those. There are like 12 of them. haha

A couple of hard tubes for the coolant returns from the turbo and coolant housings didn't want to come out. So I needed to order three of those.

Other than those things everything looked good. So another $800 in hoses and lines were ordered. The amount of shit needed to change out as preventative maintenance and those tubes added another $1000-$1000 to the build. bloody hell. haha I'll try to get a picture of all the bags and boxes from Porsche. I think in total I ordered about 200 pieces. BUT when the car is back together I shouldn't have to do anything to it for a long time. So spending the money now will save me a lot of headache and money in the long run. Especially since most of what is on this motor is hidden.

I didn't get any pics the last few days. I'll have some tonight or tomorrow. Including showing the stock parts and the upgraded stuff.

Tonight and this weekend will be cleaning everything up, installing the intercooers, new clutch, headers & turbos, injectors, intake, and whatever else we have to install. Then hopefully we will have all the parts Monday or Tuesday to finish it and get it back in the car.

Here is what it looked like fresh out of the car versus stripped down. It looks so tiny with all the stuff off it. Haha

Me and one of the guys with us that had a stock Z06 tried to pace the guy and get a good run in, but the guy just wanted to play cat and mouse everytime we got close.

Alright, alright, you've shamed me into an update. I'll try to get something put together today.

BTW, Plugs and coils on the 6TT isn't as bad since the turbos aren't variable geometry. Just pop off bumper and intercoolers and you're there.

hahaha I look forward to the update.

The driver's side has a plug that is hard due to the actuator for the VTG turbos. Especially with the larger mounting tab coils. It is what it is. I am sure the effort to change them out will be worth it for the fun I get to have with the car.

Modded supercar vs a fricken Mustang??? lol

If I keep the car it will most likely have a fuel system and E85 next year. Hopefully I'll be able to pick on you

I don't think this qualifies as a supercar. If it does, it is a 10 year old supercar. lol One from before the new HP wars.

So we know you only roll race. So the AWD doesn't make an advantage.

Boosted 3.6L (680-700 whp) vs. Boosted 5.0L (830whp) = Advantage Mustang

Curb weight 3550 vs. 3750 or thereabouts = Advantage Porsche

Which one will make more of a difference? My guess is your 130-150 hp advantage and auto trans. Becuase I am not powershifting that thing. Too costly to replace that thing. hahaha

Now on a road course or twisty road, I have a huge advantage. But this is a different kind of car versus the Mustang.

Trust me I know! I've had a lot of thought about selling my car lately and picking up a 2019 A10 and adding turbos to it. That new Velocity Blue color is awesome...
