Should I replace the t-stat? Ect is typically about 175-180 unless I'm pulling.

And how often should I replace the degas bottle cap?

You shouldn't need a cap again since you got head gaskets done. I imagine it's cold AF there right now. Do you have a cold front or cardboard installed?

Those temps are fine unloaded and in 30 or below. I block mine 70% with cardboard in this weather.

Is your cap popping off? Or coolant around the filler neck?

Highs are in the 30's here right now. I haven't blocked anything off yet, but I will here shortly. It usually runs those temps all year, unless it's 100 degrees or higher.

No coolant around the neck or cap popping off. Everything seems fine, I just wasn't sure if there was a useable life on the caps.

One more thing. I bought this draw-tite hitch earlier this summer. I finally installed it. It only took about 2 hours to install. I could probably do it in an hour now if I did it again.

And, I left my house at 4 this morning to go to Kansas city and pick this up.

Headed back into a 40-50 mph wind the whole way. I ate some fuel.

On my way down to kc empty with temps around 40, here is what I was running for ect after 2.5 hours at 75mph. Should I install a new thermostat or no?

That I'm not sure of. I'm guessing somewhere around 50. I'm not sure if it was ever changed

oh, well then yes for sure. MC part # is RT1169.

take a pic of the front cover when you remove the t stat. 17 ft lbs on torque and also put light amounts of anti seize on the bolts.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread with the past couple months of updates. This truck should have 1 extremely large smile on it's face with how well you've been fixing and taking care of it. Nice truck!

No kidding. The trailer only weighs 5k. I think this is the worst I've ever gotten.

I noticed a small puddle of coolant underneath this thing on Monday morning. It took me awhile to find the leak, but it appears to be coming from the egr delete. This has an IPR egr delete. After some searching, it looks like they had a bad run in the castings. They will replace the bad ones for free. So I will have to pull it off and either weld it or exchange it for a new one. But, this will give me a chance to finally pull the turbo off and clean it like I've been wanting to for awhile. I am waiting for some trusses to come in on a project, so I might try to tackle this next week.

The direct bolt in power Max matches incredible performance and legendary reliability as you always get with Garrett air charging systems.
