ok, my latest unfortunate catastrophie (howevere you spell it..lol) involved my ls1 self destructing when my head gasket blew out, filling the cylinder..and if you didnt know, fluid is NOT compressable and well, the rod had to go somewhere...i will be swapping in an iron block 6liter (lq4) and RE-installing my turbo, (since i never really made a turbo thread)..and will post pics as i go..so here goes.heres what ive accomplished today in about 2 hrs time..

CARNAGE!

First off, that's awesome, carnage and all the turbo ls awesomeness. 2nd, RIP to the cannned-ham? Did it die or get demodded or what? I don't remember you posting or saying anything about it. :dunno:

eh, never posted about it..was def a fun car though and i miss it, but the trans am was the way to go, so i demodded it and sold it all off..trans was taking a shit, and im almost certain it had a 12's pass in it with a good trans and tune.

Good work man! You should come by and help me wrench on mine... I took at least 5hrs to get about that far. Admittedly, I did sit under the car a number of times just cussing at it in my head for doing this to me AGAIN. :roflpicard:

With progress like that, you'll be back on the road again in no time. Keep it up!

Did you get any parts sent through the exhaust into the turbo? :noes:

there was nothing in the exducer side of the turbo metal wise, and like boost said it spun nice..ill havta pull the turbo apart from the pipes and take a closer look inside..

but this was all done also with air tools..so that automatically knocks half the time off..lol..unfortunatley....realistically i probab;y will not be pulling the motor til late next week or even after, im closing on my house and dont feel like hauling the old motor there too, so ill just leave it in for now.

I'll be honest... I remember like 5 people talking as you left the Tuesday Cozzie meet like 3 weeks ago basically saying "Its only a matter of time before he blows it the fuck up"

Glad to see you are going with something a bit beefier this time around, Did you ever end up getting it tuned before it puked?

isnt it a matter of time for ANYONEs shit to blow up though? lol this has been expected and it happend..what can ya expect from a 130k engine that has had nitrous on it previously..it didnt have a full tune but apparently it wasnt tuned enough..lol...it had the fuel too, just installed 80# injectors that afternoon it blew.

You made quite a lot of work in 2 hours there. Congrats on the house. Hope to see you have that car back together sooner than later. Yours might be running again before I'm even done. Lol

yea, i dont fuck aroudn mane, lol, just get in the "mode" and do work! thanks for the GRATS!
