TONS, what're ya lookin' for?

Sights to see? Bar scene? Music venues? Art? Food?

Driving or flying between Austin & Addison?

Driing the whole way. Wife has friends in Argyle we are going to hang with when we are in Addision, then Austin is just the two of us.

Good bourbon distilleries in or around Austin, BBQ, good Tex-Mex, hiking, boat tours, good zoos, etc.

Stuff like that.

We are coffee snobs so we are checking out Third Coast Coffee which we've bought from before and liked it. Now, we hope to enjoy coffee there fresh brewed.

Have our eyes on Frank's BBQ? and Enchanted rock.

Place in austin is right off of the Colorado river, which is great.

We also want to go to The Oasis on Lake Travis, but, first come first serve. Trying to bribe my way into a reserve spot right off of the lake, haha.

First order of business is when you're shooting down 35 towards Austin, stop just short of Waco, pull into the Czech Stop, enjoy the best god damn Kolache you'll ever experience. Additionally, if you & wifey are HGTV'ers, it's worth dropping into Waco and see the Magnolia Silos. They've got some small shops but overall just a really appealing, nice place to be.

On to Austin.

-Franklin's BBQ, if you dare. You'll need to be in line at like 8am for an 11am opening, but it's worth it.

-Enchanted Rock, it's a bit out west but a beautiful drive through the hill country & a fun hike when you get there. Bring lots of water. While you're out that way, Llano is real close to the state park and worth dropping into the original Cooper's pit-style bbq. Their beef ribs don't fuck around.

-La Barbeque, another favorite of mine but unlike Franklin's you'll be able to get in and eat if you just get there a little earlier than a lunch rush.

-Cuvee Coffee, one of the biggest names in Coffee in ATX. They don't have wifi so that limits the skull candy wearing hipsters causing ridiculous wait times if you want a table.

-Third Coast, you already know. Head up S. Congress towards the city some after for cool small shops & restaurants like...

-Guero's, cool place on S. Congress that does live music outside pretty often. Taco's and marg's in a tree filled lot is like a little oasis from the buzz of SoCo.

-Zilker Park. There's a bunch to do here but it being May, it's gonna be hot. Go jump in Barton Springs Pool (it's a concrete formed pool the spring runs through) and cool off.

-Bars, just do Rainey St, its the less douchey brother to 6th so I recommend it more even though 6th is popular & fun and I love it, Rainey is more my speed these days haha.

-The Greenbelt, little southwest of Zilker but cool opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, biking, etc.

-McKinney Falls state park, hiking, green-ness, and a cypress tree that's like 500yrs old. it's super neat.

Almost forgot, head due west to Hye & Dripping Springs.

Hye is home to Garrison Bros, super old bourbon distillery on a ranch, they should still do "straight from the still" samples. On the way back to town you stop in Dripping Springs where Deep Eddy & a few others are located doing vodka/gin and your oher clear libations.
