There's plenty of sports bars and grills around... anyone have a go to place ?
what about a little known place ? or a must visit ? a particular dish they are known for ?

There's a few that are a little more popular but I still love 'em.

The Lucky Monk in Barrington right by AMC30 has an AMAZING grilled cheeseburger...grilled cheeses as the buns...so good.

The Village Tavern in Schaumburg and or Carol Stream has the best battered chicken fingers ever.

had the nacho burger a couple weeks ago.... definitely need a fork and knife

My go to is always Public House. Few blocks away. Everything on their menu is great and their beer selection is top notch.

Also, ever since KJ introduced me to Bulldogs, Ive wanted to go back badly.

it just seems when watching the TV show, all these other states have these mom and pop family owned joints that are a staple in whatever town.

this is why i didnt list all the joints i have in a rotation.
never been to the lucky monk, but was told their salad were pricey and not too good.

I can't speak for their salads but I have not been disappointed with their burgers or appetizers or beer.

oh and X2 on Elgin Public House, great food....mmmm buffalo chicken sandwich.

Bulldogs is good for the price to quality ratio for the wings on thursday? and they have a ton of beer on tap and it's cheap one of the days which is awesome.

With getting home from trips late the last few weeks, I've been hitting up Elgin Public House a lot. Good food and quick that late at night. Another place I like for food that is 100% a dive is The Dutch in Elgin. Now there is some news that the food section may be closing for good there.

Kitchen and bar are owned by two different people. She rents the kitchen out. I guess some issues have come up and it may be leaving. If you get a chance get some food. Rubens and pulled pork are awesome.

SS Subs in downtown Belvidere - best italian beef ive ever had. portillos, etc has nothing on this guy
Mr J's on Kishwaukee in rockford. - great chicago style food in the heart of rockfords ghetto.

oh yeah.. Rips Fried Chicken in Ladd, IL - amazing. im sure @phatride can co-sign that one.

many others i can think of later but none of you guys really care about the food out my way!
