There are tons of rumors about this game. One of them being that it is intended to be basically an entire rewrite of PUBG. The company developing it has the rights to PUBG in China I think and Blue Hole still has some kind of stake in them.

One of the 'theories' is that PUBG was designed for around a one million player playerbase. They completely shot past that and the game was never designed for how many people play. Most of the people touting this theory base it on the fact that basically the game is bug free compared to PUBG even though it is still in beta.

I think it is only playable in Asia though (VPN needed)

Ya, I read that too. I mean its identical to PUBG from what I watched and it seems to run really well....
