Well this should be interesting.

Some notables from Kotaku's article.

What most clearly sets Far Cry 5 apart from its predecessors is that it isn’t about shooting up a beautiful island run by a madman in the South Pacific or a lovely region run by a madman in the Himalayas. It’s about blasting through a section of modern Montana controlled by a Bible-thumping madman who runs a heavily-armed militia. You’re up against “The Father,” Joseph Seed, who along with his family has spent the last dozen years sinking deep roots into the fictional Hope County while establishing a cult called The Project at Eden’s Gate. The cult is preparing for a big fight and/or the end of the world and are recruiting people in the town to do their bidding, whether those people like it or not. Imagine a community where some of the townspeople are actually in the militia, while others just suffer its encroaching influence and nurse their desire to rebel.

You can fly planes. And get in dogfights. You can also drive, according to the game’s press release, “iconic American muscle cars, big rigs, ATVs and boats.

And… you can get a dog to help you fight your enemies. Building on the most enjoyable feature from last year’s Far Cry Primal, the game will offer a “fangs for hire” system that lets you send a bear or cougar into fight for you. Or you can bring a dog. Hay told me he loves the dog. “We really wanted you to be able to carry this pet with you and be able to have it do stuff. You saw it can run up and be able to take guys down by the throat. It can take weapons from them and bring them back.” Chances of a dog upgrade system? “I can’t talk about that stuff but you can imagine where we’re going.”

Aaaaand if you preorder the season pass, it looks like there's going to be some...interesting DLC content

Rather than expanding on Far Cry 5’s storyline with its first three pieces of DLC, Ubisoft is heading in a completely different direction. Dead Living Zombies will pit players against “hordes of the undead” in a “zombie-infested wasteland.” Hours of Darkness takes players to Vietnam, where they will do battle against the Viet Cong. Finally, Lost on Mars zips them into a spacesuit and drops them onto the red planet to fight against giant spiders.

Sounds like they're taking the blood dragon route like they did w/ far cry 3. And speaking of far cry 3..... You get that too! An "updated" version, which no one knows what that means yet.

As it turns out, the included Far Cry 3 Classic Edition will also be a stand-alone game sold separately. Those who pre-order the Far Cry 5 season pass will get access to it four weeks early. The remaster is described as “an update to the classic open-world adventure game.”

March 27th!!!! I......think Im gonna have to go for the season pass. Its "$99" with the game if you go for the physical copy, but amazon prime members get it for $80. This all should definitely keep me busy until RDR stops getting delayed. God 3 was so awesome.

So apparently Ubisoft created a short live action film to serve as kind of a precursor to the game, and it just released on amazon prime today

In Inside Eden’s Gate, rumors of a fanatical cult called The Project at Eden’s Gate lure three vloggers to the remote Hope County, Montana. As the vloggers follow the leads of missing locals and other strange events, they come face-to-face with Joseph Seed, played by the same actor as the in-game version of the cult leader, and the rest of the fanatical doomsday cult. Produced by Asylum Entertainment, Inside Eden’s Gate features Greg Bryk (A History of Violence) and Kyle Gallner (American Sniper).

I may actually have to check it out.
