Of course this was first an anime. Why not have hollywood have a wack at ruining something. Im guessing most of the public wont even realize its based off of an anime.

You will laugh at me but I actually have a Death Note notebook with a quill pen that I keep at work, just in case. I watched the full series, have the DVD's, along with the Blue Rays of the live action film. I even made my teenage nieces watch it & now they love it.
