The Son – AMC

Based on Philipp Meyer’s acclaimed novel, the multigenerational epic will follow two concurrent time periods: One, the story of young Eli McCullough after he is kidnapped and indoctrinated into a tribe of Comanches in 1849. The other, 60 years later, when we see a grown Eli struggle to maintain his family’s cattle empire during the turbulent Bandit Wars of South Texas.

Actor Pierce Brosnan will play the role of Eli, the charismatic patriarch of the McCullough family who applies the brutal Comanche worldview to his business dealings. Born on the day Texas became an independent Republic, “The First Son of Texas”￾ is a relic of the Wild West, uneasy with the inexorable taming of Texas and the uncertain future of his legacy.

The Son is set to premiere in 2017 with 10 one-hour episodes.

Will watch. I've been liking alot of this genre lately. Playing Red Dead Redemption has made me appreciate modern western themed shows like Westworld and Hell on Wheels.

I only watched the first two seasons and then it fell of my radar. I guess I"m not missing much then. Dat Westworld Doe!! I watched all season 1. Really well done.

The last season sucked. Didnt help they pulled a breaking bad and split it in two with a year apart for each.

It just lost focus.

First hour down. Definitely not a very engaging episode so far....

I saw 20 minutes of it last night and shut it off, it was definitely lacking in the engaging department.

I'm really wanting to like this show b/c I love westerns but so far its just boring....and the acting is juuuust a bit flat.

Hm. I still havent even watched the first episode. Havent been hearing much buzz about this show either.

The characters are SUPER one dimensional...even when the actors are trying to give them life, its not believable. And so far the story itself is about as exciting as watching a tumbleweed.

The writing is about as basic as it comes too.

The indian from Fargo s2 is in it...he was more believable as an indian tracker in fargo

And indians speak perfect mexican in the flashbacks...didnt realize that was a thing (being honest).

Giving this another episode then probably gonna bail unless something actually happens.
