Another day, another Polaris recall.

2014-2017 Scrambler XP 1000 Recall | Polaris Industries

Their recall page is nuts right now.

I am glad I went with Can Am. Polaris is struggling with their side by side stuff the last couple years.

I was actually thinking about selling the Scrambler. I haven't even ridden it this year and I rode my snowmobiles more than the thing. Granted, it's a free repair and the recall is done regardless who owns it but guess it really is time to sell this thing.

Everything I come across confirms their SxS are fucking junk, market leader or not. My cousins 3-5 year old Rzr has held up just fine, but I would be super careful about this new shit they are trying to churn out.

They've had a ton of RZR recalls. What fucking dumbshit bean counter saw the engineer's design and then said "we can save pennies by cutting the fuel vent hose shorter" and it's over the fucking header. Two women died in a Ranger because the thing ignited and they got stuck in the seats by the seat belts. The little kids Outlaw 90 has a fire hazard. It's nuts.

Polaris needs to focus on building quality shit instead of buying up every little toy company they come across.

Arctic Cat was just bought by Textron earlier this year. Maybe we'll see those Wild Cats get some needed upgrades and finally have a 4th real contender in the sports SxS.

They evidently have fixed all of the prior year issues for their turbo XP RZR, but I guess time will tell. Carter, sell your junk and get a Maverick. They are offering a "base model" turbo for under 20k starting in 2018

So any rzr owner that had their recall done before a certain date, Polaris extended their factory warranty, a full year out from original purchase date. I'm sure most know they only give you a bullshit 6 month warranty on power sports. So my shit is currently at the dealer for a bunch of shit. Front diff rebuild, all 4 new axles, rear Trans seals, front ball joints, front a-arm bushings. Fuck em. Pay up.

Boy, how times changed. My Scrambler (a 1995), was great.

The secondary on my Scrambler weeble wobbled worse than a drunkard, @Outlaw seent it. Polaris "fixed" that, we'll see how long that lasts. I snapped a front axle, they wouldn't do shit about it so I said fuck em and bought Cobras. I've beaten the piss out of it harder than I ever did and they're still holding up fine. I've been through 3 winch solenoids and 2 toggle switches for it on the handle bars. One headlight got moisture in it somehow, that was warrantied.

Of course, we're sitting here talking about Polaris junk and here I am with a snowchecked Switchback on the way.

Ya I'm confident in it all, esp the armor underneath when traversing tight sketchy shit, I know some big rocks and other terrain eventually would have punctured the plastic, and possibly bent steering/susp components. The Rockford place can be like desert where there are bigger rocks, boulders coupled with choppy elevation changes that can cause even SxS susp to bottom out.

Last thing on the list is to add a big AGM battery and some tunes.

What harness did you go with? I just ordered some PRP harnesses, they seem like good quality. Also, where did you order a majority of your stuff from?

I got everything from amazon and ebay except harness was from sidebysideutvparts.com which gave like 10% off and $10 credit if you snapped a pic of your SxS and tagged them.

Blue PRP Harness 4 Point 3"
Color: BLACK
Pro Armor Override Clip for 2015 RZR and Can-Am (make sure you got this)
