I actually kinda got this idea of a dedicated sledding cabin stuck in my head now. Not even that the particular cabin KJ posted is perfect, but I sorta kinda like the idea.

any interest in buying land up there still? find land right on trails that will at least have electric to the property, pour a slab, setup RV/camper, done. Or find a straight up cabin ready to go

Had a hard time finding anything that suited all the wants. Big enough to shoot, natural running water, enough woods to get the tax cuts through allowing forestation, the right cabin on the property, access to required utilities, etc. Its tougher than it sounds.

I don't think it's tough.

Moreso the price range all those requirements exist in is pretty high.

I was finding some pretty decent tracts of land in the 200 range around Hayward/Sawyer County. Not sure where your range is though.

But, alas, other things to worry about atm.

I mean @Outlaw has/had to winterize his family's cabin every year. He got new heater and other appliances and a bigger propane tank so he could keep it open year round and not have shit freeze.

I couldn't imagine an RV/camper and what's required to keep that shit warm.

other thing with up north property, is i wouldn't be necessarily looking for land with a structure already, find property with utilities and have at it.

the building codes are so insanely lax, you could have a slab poured with a metal building setup, no rise from the garage to the living area, and finish it yourself extremely utilitarian and be in for not much money.

we have been workin' on a guy's setup like this up in the northwoods at work lately, and it's hilarious how lax and loose the codes are.

I like building stuff. Tents until a structure is built by TCG bare hands.

Yeah I still winterize the house for that exact reason. Bigger tank is good for getting through the whole winter without having more gas delivered.
