How much to expect from higher octane?

I was just a little curious to how much more power you really get out of running higher octane. With the tune adjusted accordingly, what can be expected going from 93 (say 510HP car) to 100 octane?

With the higher octane to help avoid detonation, you can kick the timing up a degree or two and get large hp gains. Exact gains will depend on your car and mods. They would be noticeable.

My care runs pretty good on 93. Some one at work told me that the car would run a lot cooler with the higher octane is this true, also he said it would have better throttle response too.

My bike runs completely different (In a good way) on 100-110 octane.

If you're already able to run 23 degrees of timing on 93, then 100 won't get you anything. I've heard from two sources that anything past 23 degrees is a waste and if you don't need 100 to run 23 degrees at the boost level you want, then it'll just slow you down. I can't provide any facts, just what I've heard.

That said, I usually mix in some 100 (especially at the track) for a safety margin, although it's probably costing me some hp.
