Choice?

I have an chance to pick up either an 87' T-Bird Turbo coupe or a 90' Cougar XR/7 version of the "Super Coupe".

Both are very cheap! Turbo is closer to home in the far south west burbs, the Cougar XR/7 north west burbs.

T-Bird is a five speed Cougar and auto.

Any thoughts?

Tbird is a 2.3 L 4 popper, I believe. There IS NO replacement for Displacement. 5 Speed is a Huge Plus,however.
Cougar is a 3.8 L Eaton m90 engine known for Headgasket Failures but the internals are strong. Company called Magnum Powers makes KILLER Upgrades for these cars. Old Style AOD tranny is a plus, Easy to Build, NO Computer control

Turbocoupe is a Solid rear axle, Cougar is Independent Rear end.

I'd bet the Cougar Weighs more.

You never said anything about the Bodies/Interiors

If it was a supercoupe instead of the turbo, I say the Tbird. I'd go for the cougar on this one though. Can't remember exactly which body type that is for cougar.

My Uncle has a 89 T/Bird S/C Mint condition with less than 30,000 miles. Pearl White. I love that car, he finally let me drive it this summer. Took it out on RT30 and had the Eaton Whinning!! It was amazing.
