The car feels pretty strong. I've passed the break in period for the clutch and have been doing some spirited driving.

I also got a chance to drive it with the Advanced Track turned off. All this time I've been driving it with only the first set of nannies off. Wow, it makes a huge difference. I thought maybe the MT SS were so sticky that I couldn't break the tires loose outside a launch on the street. It turns out I still had that form of traction control on. It can now get out of control if I don't let off.

I was wondering why the car didn't really feel like it had 600whp. That other traction control must pull a good amount of power. I'm also not having any more anxiety stepping on it. The first few times get me anxious that something else might break. But it has felt pretty solid and I'm getting more comfortable in thinking that I should be fine for a while now.

Even with Advance Track "off" the s550 still has some amount of nannies running. But yea, traction control off versus Advance Trac off makes a big difference.

Good to hear the clutch is broke in and you are getting used to the car. How is the clutch now that you have driven it some? I think you said it seemed odd to you at first.

I had Joe drive it and he thinks it is normal and likely just due to it being a non-stock clutch. It is a little more difficult to slip and requires more modulation to get moving smoothly in first gear. And I feel like it has become more sensitive as to what gear Iím in versus the speed Iím moving at. I used to take corners at third and a little less speed, but the trans feels like it doesnít like third at that speed. It could just be me, but it feels a little different. It is likely just a different feel that will require some adjustment.

Do you think that traction control being on probably helped to break your axle?

Even if it was 100% off, it probably would have broken. Sticky tires and stock axles are known to be an issue on the IRS. It was really me not realizing that a quick dust off would be the same as a hard launch.

After doing some reading on the 6G Mustang website, some people are claiming that it is necessary to do a crank position sensor re-learn after a clutch/flywheel install. That is just about when I started getting these misfire codes popping up.

I sent a message to my tuner asking about it. The car only has 20k miles on it, I doubt it would be having ignition components already needing replacement.

The car does not feel short on power or have any driveability issues that I can sense.

We used to do a kam reset. Just pull the battery cable and try to start the car a few times. Back on the 2011 cars you would just turn the key on once the battery was disconnected. That would truly clear out all the memories and drain the power from the car. Then next restart would crank longer than usual, but it would relearn the sensor positions.

Oh and I know this is probably not the problem but the #8 was the one that would drop first when the car would go lean. That was because back in the day tuners were turning off the knock sensors and the car wouldn’t be able to save itself. Kaboom.

On the 2011+ cars I always do a crank relearn with a new clutch or flywheel. Some flash tuners allow you to do a crank relearn. SCT x4 and Ngauge allow you to do it. Otherwise, you can have a dealer or shop with the Ford IDS diagnostic set up to do it. It takes all of 3-5 minutes to do.

I'm not sure resetting the KAM does the relearn. I remember seeing people saying that and others saying it does not work. I searched and found a TSB stating KAM does not do that function anymore. But that may be outdated.

I still have my X4 that has the relearn functionality, so maybe I'll give that a whirl and see what happens. I really don't feel any hesitation or surging, it's like fake misfires.

When my 2V has a misfire, I could hear it and feel it. It would just break up and I could tell for sure there was an issue.

But I also want to make sure that the relearn doesn't screw with the tune from KB. I'll wait to hear from my tuner to be safe.

I'm wondering if it has always been red and I just now noticed it. I should make a thread on the 6G website, but I feel stupid asking.

If you have mycolor you can change the color of all the gauges. The tach will also change red as it hits the shift point. But shouldn't stay red.

Just for clarification, it is just the little line between 6-8rpm, not the entire tach like when you need to shift.
