Fiesta SE . Mostly highway , 120 miles a day for work . I get 36-40 mpg , depending where and how I drive . I don't recommend it with an automatic due to failure rate . It helps it get better mpg though .

Small gas tank takes about $25 to fill with 89 octane .

I drive 135 miles round trip for work each day.

2014 Taurus SEL (3.5L n/a). Now has 70k miles on it.
Comfortable leather seats and ride. Good ergonomics
26 mpg city / highway combined
Easy to drive, not claustrophobic, solid (no rattles / squeaks), quiet, good safety
Simple to maneuver when switching lanes

42 miles round trip. 2001 Tahoe. 15-17 mpg, can be as bad as 13. Only saving grace is my entire commute is 55-65mph and there's no traffic when I leave at 6am.

I wouldn't own a fuel efficient car long enough to make up the 10-15 mpg better difference, so, I just deal with the shit mileage.

2017 Cooper S Clubman ALL4 (Manual)- We are seeing 23 around town, and just under 30 strictly highway. Being all wheel drive, we weren't especially surprised in the MPG hit from our last cooper (25 around town, 34 highway).

2000 Explorer V-8 AWD (Auto) - 14mpg around town, 18 highway. Not bad considering it has a small lift now.

We don't really DD the Mustang (2013 GT, Manual), but it gets like 17 in town, 25 highway if you keep your foot out of it......... Normally its like 15/22 if being driven 'spiritedly'

He has a different situation though . He is talking about having his kids warm in the car . Heater on before entry .

I never use my block heater. Car has started every time . On the really cold days I go outside to warm my car , I start it and put the heat on high , and fan on level 2.

It might effect fuel economy , but it's nice to hop into a pre warned car when it's 0 degrees

I'm just talking an oil pan heater, to quicken the process. I mean, to get the coolant up to temp faster, you'd have to do a coolant recirculating heater...but I don't think that's really entirely necessary at this latitude. Maybe up north a few hundred miles. But the oil pan heater SHOULD warm up the car, that much quicker, since it's got more heat in the motor.
