So this white F250 is a first new vehicle for me. Do I assume the factory finishes the paint with the clear and calls it a day? Do I just wash, inspect the paint to see if it needs clay, wash again, and put a sealant on there? (vs old school wax).

My F350 had it, truck was four years old and I never waxed it and it was perfect.
Had as in it wore off, or had as in she gone?
Yes it's from car pro. It dissolves iron contaminates in your paint. I tried it out on my wheels and it dissolved all the brake dust and "bleeds" purple in the process. Looking forward to trying it on some rusty brake dust spots I have collected over the winter. The stuff smells like big foots dick though.
Yes, is it needed process? I have a new car as well.
Cool, just ordered the Wolfgang sealant. First time using sealant. VERY EXCITE!
It's an awesome product. Very easy to apply. You will need to wait 45 minutes to let it bond before wiping it off and I believe the instructions state that the vehicle should avoid moisture for 24 hours.
Do not over saturate your applicator... and I have found a minimum of 45 minutes to allow it to "cure" is needed.
longer if the air temps are colder.
When you go to remove it, it should not smear, it should wipe off clean.
get ready for one of the slickest feeling paint you have seen.
