Default What do you guys want to know about the Raptor?

I'm curious. I'm sure a lot of you guys have read everything about the new Raptor, but is there anything specific you haven't seen addressed in other reviews or materials?

Does ford have any plans for a real motor? IE twin turbo voodoo motor?

It makes 450 hp & 500 ft/lbs. That is like 45 more hp and 75 ft/lbs over the previous model. That is substantial. Couple that with the 10 speed and I think it will be very capable. Isn't this one lighter as well?

I somehow feel Ford isn't looking to make a 800hp Raptor from the factory.

THE ILLUSIVE TWIN TURBO (ecoboost) V8 MOTOR!

I somehow feel like it would have already happened by now.... AND what Pratt said. The ecoboost in the new Raptor is the bee's knees, amirite?

Yup, it's really good. As fast as a dedicated sport truck like the Lightning or SRT10. And the 10-speed is fantastic rock crawling and on the street. I'm writing our review now and just wondered what interested TCG about the truck.

Our tester was 5,800 pounds, but had optional equipment like the box ramps.

I just got done reading car and drivers article on it. Seems pretty quick for a stock truck. Maybe ground clearance and approach angles for big time off-roaders? Interior and interior tech would be nice to know about as well. Also cough tow rating cough.

One of the top three things I loved about my raptor was the rumble of the v8. Even though my ecobust SHO almost beat a GTR, I want rumble in my truck.

The Ford specs I have say 6,203 for a crew. Was there a discrepancy between specs and actual weight?

Either way, a moderately loaded SuperCrew, I'm at 61k. That's with the 801A package, 802A pushes it close to 65. No thanks. I'll buy a deezul for that price or a fully loaded Laramie Powerwagon and get crazy incentives from Dodge because they blow out brand new trucks.

Sounds like with more power, lighter weight, and 10 speed it should be a winner.

With more 'go' is there more 'whoa' with the brakes?

I always thought the boss motor was a good fit for the raptor . I think they should've done more development with it and kept it unique to the raptor . Like special intake and heads , or better cams .

They're the same ramps as the pedestrian F-150. They fold up to the side and sit above the wheel tubs.

I really wish that Ford would bring back the Lightning.

Does the 10 speed hunt for gears? I thought I read that in C&D's review.

I got the impression they didn't like the on road characteristics of the transmission at all.
