Nitto nto5r vs mt et street ss

Anybody have experience with the nto5r I'm looking at the et street ss I've run et streets on a few cars and like them but in the size I need 18" rim the nitto's are almost $100 cheaper and taller at 28.9" I'm going to be useing these for both the street and track

Nitto's have always been junk imo. I've never seen them hook like Mickey Thompsons ever.

The way i see them, nittos are spongy feeling and don't get sticky like the mickeys. Maybe they're good at the track but i wouldn't know, that's out of my element.

Go with the mickey's. They are much better than the nitto's.

NT05R is not a junk tire at all. It works pretty well on the street, but the MT will prevail at the track. Tread life is crap from both tires on a 700whp+ car.

I'm curious to what kind of tire would have good thread life under any 700+ whp car? LoL

I've had nto5r and Mickey but neither last. The M&H seem to last longer on the street however. Never used them at the track

I had the 05r a few years ago and it worked great. Obviously not as forgiving as the ET street but never had problems with them. I will say I honestly think the ET street drove better on the street and when caught in the rain wasn't nearly as bad as the 05r, that thing was a nightmare. Wear was pretty close for me with them, the ET is softer but requires less burnout to get hot so it evens out.

I put almost 5k on my ET pros last year and over 7 this year and they're finally due for new ones prolly 40 or more passes as well

How much air pressure do you run in them? I do 6-7k a year in mine but I drive it in rain and every thing else, I also can't fit pro's without a brake conversion, wish I could those were my favorite tires ive ever had
