Best-sounding Mustang ever

My dad and I couldn't believe what this Mustang sounded like from the sidelines. Caught our attention every lap. This was at Road America for the WeatherTech Brian Redman International Challenge. According to the entry list, car 23 is a 1970 Ford Boss 302. Craziest sounding 5.0-liter V-8. Could listen to it all day.

1969 Ford Mustang BOSS 302 Trans-Am - Supercars.net

Engines for the 1969 BOSS came from a new design which similar to the road-cars, used the 351 Cleveland cylinder head on a 302 Windsor block. Specially built engines for racing used a completely new bottom and top end with two 1050cfm Holley Dominator 4-Barrel Carburetors on a ‘Cross-Boss’ manifold. Ford reported 470 bhp during the mid-season.

From what I recall crossover headers were extremely popular as well being that they could fit longer-length primaries in the same space

Yeah, was going to say it sounds like a 180° header system.

Which sounds amazing, and gives you somewhat of a flat-plane crank sound.

I love the noise they make.

I was thinking sequential trans as well.

Balances out the exhaust pulses. You get better scavenging throughout the entire rpm range.

Almost all of the other classes gave each other plenty of room and were easy in and off the corner, but this group drove the fucking wheels off their cars. That white Camaro was sideways and often in the dirt on 14 every time. So awesome.

Trying to do some searching on that car , looks like that engine builder is mainly sbf .

One person in a 2014 thread I found said the car had 609hp . Not sure if that's at the crank or at the tire .
