Ford āOle Yellerā Mustang pays homage to the famous North American P-51D Mustang which served as the official pace and safety plane at the Reno National Championship Air Races .
The Ford āOle Yellerā Mustang features a custom yellow exterior finish with āOle Yellerā accents and badging, unique carbon fiber components and mirrors projecting images of the aircraft. The interior incorporates specially designed Recaro seats, sill plates, floor mats with unique logos and aviation inspired gauges.
Ok if yall didn't know , warplanes back in the day were as flashy as can be with colorful paints . The paint scheme on this mustang is quite tame. They could have really gone out and painted a big mouth with teeth on the grill or a lady in a bikini , or something like the old planes did.
I'm sure ford put a toggle switch on the dash to turn the lights off . They probably tapped into the wiring for the door sill lights .
If you look at other p51d or even the P-40 or P-40E warplanes , they are painted up to the extreme , very flashy . So i guess the old warplanes were vintage rice ?
And just so everyone knows
, my username is not based on a plane , it is based on part of my cars vin.
