Non Ethanol Gas?

The Chicago area requires reformulated gasoline, which is always 10% ethanol. Is there anywhere close that sells non-ethanol gasoline? I've seen it in Bloomington and out near Iowa, but I don't want to drive that far.


I'm going to be storing a super low mileage '65 Plymouth and would rather avoid any ethanol.

Call some local marinas and ask if they have ethanol gas. I know some of the ones around here don't have ethanol.

I've heard small airports have high octane non ethanol added fuel.


Also try 100 octane race fuel. I don't know if ethanol is being added to the race fuel that's available at some gas stations. I've had a tank of Cam2 100 octane in my foxbody for almost a year now and it still starts up as soon as I hit the key. Adding some fuel stabilizer is another worthwhile precaution.

I think you just have to cross into Wisconsin. I can't remember if the stuff I buy in Beloit has Ethanol or not, but all the premium I buy in La Crosse is ethanol free.

I noticed down by lake of the ozarks all the regular grade 87 was ethanol free

I'll check out spring brook today it's normally about a buck a gallon more than at the pump but it's 93 non ethanol and it's all treated with valvetech

I was saying, I don't know what it costs at a marina, never been to one. Bu tI have always heard it's costly.

3.47 is cheaper than what I thought it would be.

Diversey Harbor sells non-ethanol 93 its $5.99 a gallon.

I asked a few Marina's by my house (On the lower Fox River) and they all say the gas has ethanol in it. They all buy the valvtect marine fuel from Palatine Oil.

Not many marinas near Aurora, but I called one in Wilmington. They laughed at me.

Seneca might be good enough if nothing closer pops up.

Why not just run a Stabil product for storage? I'm assuming you're concerned with water. I'd just run a concentrated dosage of Marine Stabil or the new 360 product.

The gasket and hoses on a 1965 car will breakdown with ethanol. Cars weren't designed for ethanol until the mid-seventies.

And I highly doubt the effectiveness of Stabil. It can't stop ethanol from absorbing water and phase separating.

I started running vp t4 in my dirt bikes after getting fed up with 93 octane fucking up the carbs over and over again, it’s 20ish bucks a gallon but worth it, also oxygenated so it makes a little more power on it

I should probably pull some of that timing back I'm not about to pay 4 somethin a gallon for 91.
