My Dad's Harley broke yesterday. The cam's were wearing out and would only top out at 70 so something was bound to break. Pulling the head off now for inspection. Revtech cams and pushrods.

Harley's are the ricer of the motorcycle world. Loud, flashy and slow

Wow.... Ok bro. Not sure how this a flashy or slow. Heres an example of one that is pretty damn quick and not flashy at all.

My favorite quote is "Chrome don't get ya home". I'm not a fan of all the damn chrome or the newer harleys that don't even sound right or all the damn yuppies that buy em and get all the get-up and take out once a week if that.

Yeah not my style either but I was showing something that wasn't all chromed out/ Flashy and was one was decently quick up to around 90 mph. Hell even my dads bike would dust crotch rocket 600's and 750's up to about then in its prime.

i dont see how a 1200cc pushrod v-twin with a whopping 60hp can be considered "quick"

also, they may be easier to rebuild vs a jap bike, but jap engines dont need to be rebuilt because they run forever. that's what happens when you change to improve an engine. harleys use the same recycled 80 year old garbage engine design because it sounds "good" according to the ricers that buy them.

You obviously know nothing about Harleys from that post. Harley has changed designs many many times since the beginning. And 1200cc Harley's are quick but I was referring to the larger 85 cubic inch/ 1400cc and the 100c.i. And the 215 cubic inch the 120 cubic inch ect. Ect. Ect.

You sir know nothing and your opinion is obviously shit.

Cool that your working on something different but, it sounds to me like you have never rode a newer sport bike, I ran my friends 2011 dyna had the 1350? Motor, on my zx6r both just had an air filter exhaust and a tune, never saw him after we left the line, new 600's are I'd guess 50-60hp more than a new Harley but only weigh 350lbs

I have typically had no issues running with 600s and 1000s on my Harley.....

A good friend of mine has a 883 Sporty with a S&S hop up kit on it. His bike is fast. It will, and has, put to shame slightly modded 1000s.

Just give up, these guys seriously don't have a fucking clue what a real Harley can do. That 883 tho, I would never have thought, I never rode one tho but I'd figure the same kit on a 1200 would be quicker.

And you guys got 600's? When this thing is put back together I'll have his 5'4" 120 lbs ass run your shit and put you to shame.

I've been riding a long time and I've never had a Harley be even close to keeping up. The 2013 gsxr 1000 makes 183hp stock and weighs 3XXlbs. That's second in power to the BMW which is 190hp stock. Harleys weigh a lot more and dont make that kind of power. So I'd have to see it to believe it. From my own personal experience, the Harley isn't close.
