Default Paul Walker's Favorite Cars in his Collection

Minus his lack of knowledge on the Supra...the man just keeps getting respect points from me.

Quote:
My grandfather was a race car driver. For me, cars are a hobby thatís turned into a real business. Itíll always be a big part of who I am, thatís for sure, not to mention the Fast & Furious component.

I mean, Iím buying and selling all the time; I have a dealerís license. We manufacture high-end performance parts, we do exhaust systems and race prep, specialized in Porsche and BMW, but we do a lot for the Nissan Skyline and weíre starting to do more for Audi now.

I have about 20 or 30 cars on my forecourt. Itís a lot, but theyíre always on the market. If somebody walks in to the showroom I have set up, everythingís lit. Theyíre functional pieces of art.

I tinker with cars a lot -- itís cathartic. If youíve got a lot on your mind, you can go in and get underneath a car doing even something as simple as just swapping out tires. You got all the equipment in there, putting it on a rack, getting underneath it. I like doing that. Itís fun. Oil changes, basic stuff. Iím not a mechanic by any stretch, especially when it comes to the modern stuff, but I can do all the basics.

BMW '74 2002 Touring

The pride and joy of my garage right now? The BMW '74 2002 Touring. Itís an anomaly in the States. I picked this one up -- and we had the 2002s come in, but they werenít the hatchback. The thing thatís cool about this one is it has all the Alpino parts. Alpino wasnít actually manufacturing cars or selling cars at the factory, like they are now, but itís kitted out with all the Alpino stuff from í74, so itís a rare configuration. Especially in the States, because the car was never even for sale there. I really like it -- itís this bright orange hatchback; itís a cool looking little car. The Mini to Mini Cooper is like what the 2002 is to BMW. That was really their coming out. And thatís the car that ultimately led to the M3.

I like that itís got a really cool throaty sound to it. Itís just a four-cylinder -- itís not fast, by any stretch. But youíve got 160 horsepower. In its time, it was revered as a pretty quick car, by European standards. In the States, it would have been scoffed at because everyone was running V8s. But I like the oddball stuff. I have more European tastes than I do American tastes. Even though I appreciate American muscle cars -- I grew up around that stuff -- I like the European stuff more.

Ford Escort Cosworth

I really like the Ford Escort Cosworth -- the rally car that Iím driving in this newest movie [Fast & Furious 6]. Itís late '60s/early '70s vintage, and itís really revered here in the UK. It was a real killer in the rally circuit, back in the day. At first, it wasnít one that I was really all that hip to, but I fell in love with it on this one. So that oneís up there for me. Itís funny because I donít know how well itís going to be received -- itís Smurf blue, and it doesnít really look that coolÖ But thatís what makes it so cool. Itís kind of like the 2002; it falls under the same category. I remember showing up and Tyrese [Roman Pearce in the movie] and Chris [AskMen: thatís Ludacris to you and me] were like, "Oh, man, they did you wrong!" I was like, "No, actually, I like it. I think itís cool." Tyrese was like, "Yeah, of course you like it!"

R33 Nissan Skyline

We had an R33 Nissan Skyline in the first movie. It was the yellow car that had all the plastic vinyl on the side. Peel the vinyl off and repaint the car, and then I really like it.

Toyota Supra

I also like the Toyota Supra from the first Fast & The Furious film. Recently, I finally got a Toyota Supra. I got a Ď95, which is close to the last year they brought them in -- I think they brought them in up to Ď97. And it's white and hard top, which is a really rare color combination.

BMW M3 E36 Lightweight

Right now I have the largest private collection of E36 M3 lightweights, which is, in my opinion, the best generation of the BMW M3. The lightweight LTWs, they only brought 60 of them to the States and they didnít come with AC. They were basically like a weekend racerís car: real light, everything just lightened up like what the GT3 bearing is to Porsche. Itís just really cool, so I started nabbing those up a while ago, because I realized that was going to become the ďitĒ car. I got in just in time. I amassed a bunch of them, so Iím just going to sit on them for a while.

I didn't know he did his own performance stuff. Kinda cool.

But neither of those favorites of his would be in my collection if I had one

He's off on the number of E36 Lightweights, it's more like 120.

I figured he'd have lambos or something. I figured one skyline and one supra but I figured there would be much more impressive that that.
