Went today... lots of cool cars. Monte Carlo SS Dale Earnhardt edition, went up to 17k but didn't hit reserve. Owner must be smoking crack. Real Daytona Pace Car, bid up to 9k, also missed reserve, Mundelein registration indicates it probably belonged to the original owners of Chicago Club Grand Prix for whatever that's worth.

05' Gallardo... Last line of description: Illinois court ordered sale; divorce. lol

Pics to come. Thanks for listening.

My buddy's uncle bought a 1969 Camaro there this week. It broke down on the way home

Would love to go and look for a deal. Not sure if there are deals to be had yet in the collector market. Everything has been so expensive for so long.

I offered to buy that car from him a year ago and would have paid him over 10K for it, but he did not want to sell it. Not even a month after I bought my Cobra he ended up making the decision to sell it. It is a sharp ride, the body is perfectly straight, and there is one nick on the paint, otherwise the exterior is flawless. In my opinion the color of the car is hurting its value because if that car is black it goes for much more.

what year was the earnhardt monte? i believe the first year they made was the 2002 L36. come in black color with silver/red exterior trim and the other one is 2004 L67 black with silver ground effect trim. imo i think both of them don't worth 17k but if you are a die hard earnhardt fan the car is worth it. i only got $10k for my 2004 at auctions america at auburn, in couple years ago.i was hoping to get 12k but didn't happen.

It was probably a 2004 then because my buddy commented on how the ground effects looked unpainted. You'd REALLY need to be a Dale Earnhardt fan to pay 17k for that.

I wanted to go this year, but didn't realize that it only went til Saturday. The GP Pace Car is Scott and Wendy Sears' car.

That's what I thought. I knew at one point they had two of them. Did they just fall off the face of the earth or what?

i heard some shit was going stupidly cheap.

c5 for 11k?

and scott and wendy sears' got super into boating a few years back... surprised to hear they sold that car. they were all about that thing.

We only watched the auction for 30 minutes or so but nothing seemed to be hitting reserve and what was selling seemed particularly cheap. People tend to go nuts and these auctions and overpay for everything and that certainly wasn't the case for as long as I was in there.
