I just wish the Dodge muscle cars didn't drive like boats. They've got the looks, the power, but just don't handle even remotely well, even for a strictly street car.

Dodge has true Muscle cars. Intermediate sized cars with big / powerful engines.

At best they are a Grand Touring car. One that cruises cross county with no worries about comfort on a long drive.

They are having good success with the Charger and Challenger. So good for them. I would like to see the Challenger at least lose some weight the next chassis design at least.

I think the 6th gen Camaro looks better sans the tail light. The redesign 5th gen tail lights looked pretty good. Driveline and look got better with the 6th gen. The newest one, I'm not sure I agree with some of the exterior changes.

I think people blow the Dodge cars handling way out of proportion. My Scat car handled extremely well for what it was and I preferred the Scat cars handling over my stock Mustang that's for sure. It took a set of dampers and springs to get the Mustang proper...

Maybe I should really get some seat time in an SRT version. They’ve just a lot of weight, and handling has always been a knock. Shit there were even some magazine tests of PP Mustang GT’s bearing Hellcats around road courses. Obviously not a track like Road America, but a smaller technical track.

I doubt you had the car anywhere where you really got to test out it's handling. The roads around here need more bends. haha I know you didn't track the car. Again, I bet they are a really good touring type car.

I don't think that is surprising at all due to the weight. The Hellcat probably has to hit the brakes a lot sooner and is slower through the turns. Mustangs are not light, but lighter than a hellcat. And the PP helps as well. I would love to see the PP2 and mag shocks versus a PP1 with mag shocks.

I've had my challenger at mid ohio and autobahn. They don't feel as heavy as they are. I wouldn't change anything about my scat with the exception of having another 100hp na..... the 426 can't come soon enough.

Fca is keeping the old dated chassis in demand and relevant, I give them credit.

The 1LE and PP Mustang are significantly quicker than their Dodge counterparts. A lot of that has to do with weight, but also GM and Ford are using newer chassis (torsional rigidity) and better suspension geometry. Both put more aggressive tires on the vehicle that can take advantage of the above. Lastly, both have tweaked aero for downforce.

The difference when the cars are tested on tracks is significant.

More power would be great. But I would like to see less weight even if it means less power. We all know that weight is the enemy. lol

I said it a couple posts back, they are having continues success with those cars. Which is good for them. Not so sure the customer wins out in the long run. If they don't build a new chassis it just grows more and more outdated. Will they still be able to sell these cars 5-8 years down the road?

Well I definitely didn't take it on a course, but I'm just saying the car FEELS and drives much better than my Mustang did on the street. The Scat car was planted and didn't squat, lean, or nose dive like my Mustang did stock. Car was easy as hell to control and I could kick the tail out around turns and keep it controlled.

For 99% of people that buy these cars, they will be thoroughly impressed with how a Scat or better Dodge car handles. That's all I'm saying and I'm sticking to it! Lol

5,000 pounds helps a car feel planted for sure.

I don't doubt most people who buy one would complain about the suspension with day to day use.

I'm just baffled why so many people I know, as well as forum members, have bought these cars and didn't hang on to them very long. If they are such awesome cars, why do so many people ditch them so soon? It makes no sense.

For me, it's because I have another car with a lot more HP and also the wife couldn't fucking drive the damn thing...lol

If I had to choose between one or the other and it was staying close to stock it would be Scat car all day long. Maybe that's different now with the 18+ Mustangs though as I haven't driven one yet.

A scat weighs 4,082 ish....A c7zr1 weighs 3600 ish.... by your math a c7zr1 weighs 4518. Hope that one feels planted too.

I agree it doesn't make sense.. about why so many guys here bought a scat and I think I'm the only one who still owns his, along with my 2011 I bought new and will never sell. I wonder as well.

Like I said, for me it was because I already have a Mustang that has about 400 more hp than a Scat and is more fun to drive with how I've modified it. Plus I slightly prefer the looks of the Mustang.

Obviously I was joking about the 5,000 pounds because we are poking fun at it for being heavy.

And trust me when I say I fully believe the new GT500 is gonna be heavy too. Unless they put a lot into weight savings, it can't be that lite. The GT350 isn't lite and now we are adding a blower and intercooler set up to it. So the ZL1 1LE is impressive for its weight compared to the other two.

And ya, on paper and reviews from owners, you would think these Mopar would be the ones everyone would have and be driving till death parts them haha

But seriously, why did basically every member that bought one, dump it so quick? I was on "vacation" when most of that went down, so really didn't know the full story.

I mean, wasn't there like 4-5?

and of those 4-5 that ditched, 3-4 of them ditch every 6-8 months or less anyways?
