Selling homes on the Gulf Coast of Florida
Ford is suing Cena after he re-sold his 2017 Ford GT to make a big profit. This is a big no no as far as Ford is concerned and no flipping was written in the sales contract.

Cena was supposed to maintain ownership of the car for two years, but instead flipped it for $500,000 shortly after getting the vehicle, according to the lawsuit obtained by the outlet.

"Mr. Cena has unfairly made a large profit from the unauthorized resale flip of the vehicle, and Ford has suffered additional damages and losses, including, but not limited to, loss of brand value, ambassador activity and customer goodwill due to the improper sale," the lawsuit reportedly says.

I remember reading Ford saying from the start that there was a contract stipulation about selling the car and other things.

There is a reason the picked owners who had a large social media presence, racing exposure, and so on.

I'm not saying he shouldn't have sold the car for a $500k profit though. lol

I believe there's also Ferrari's and Bentley's in his car rotation.

In any case, if he sold it but was under contract that he couldn't sell it then they might have some grounds for the lawsuit.

Sweet, a '91 Lincoln Conti and a Malaise Cadillac:roflpicard:

In other news, he broke the terms of his contract...Ford has every right to sue for breach of contract :dunno:

I don't know why he would sell it, honestly. He stands to make a ton of money, even 5 years out. Almost guaranteed there'd be a line of people waiting to buy it off him for much more, and without the threat of lawsuit from Ford. Seems like a stupid way to make a quick buck.

The written lawsuit is very interesting. Ford is concerned that the GT is in the hands of a “non Ford ambassador” who might say damaging things about it, and Ford. This is all very Ferrari-like.

Cena: I don't like this car and have bills to pay, so I'm selling it, w/e

Ford: You can't sell the car you own! *files lawsuit* That'll teach you about bad mouthing our products!

Cena: Fucking Ford, all I wanted to do is sell that pos v6, now they are suing me. Definitely not ever going to give Ford good praise ever again! Oh well, time to play friends with Ford to get this lawsuit dropped!

Ford: Yeah we won! He'll never bad mouth us again!

Lexas did this with the LFA. Except, I think they leased it to the people for the term, with the option to buy it after the lease expired. I must research this to see if I'm remembering correctly.

On one had, I agree that if you buy a car, you should be able to sell it. On the other hand, people buying these cars up, just to resell them later pisses me off, even though I can't afford one.

It pisses me off the same way people who bought up all the retro NES and SNES consoles did, just to resell them at a profit later.

Even though its legal, I think its shitty.

If the contract language did include a no sell clause for 2 years, then I hope he gets hammered in the lawsuit and loses all the profits from the sale. Its not like he needed the money.
