As absurd as Road & Track’s sub 10-second quarter mile time is for a car that’s powered by only two wheels, DragTimes reports that a bone-stock McLaren 720S in New Jersey managed to scoot through the quarter mile in 9.79 seconds with a trap speed of 147 mph. And it did this multiple times. If you don’t believe that, here’s a look at one of the runs:

that car is nasty fast . RWD car on stock regular 305/30/20 Pirelli tires running 9.7s is nuts . Car is crazy fast , there are videos of 720S beating 1000hp CTSV , H/C/I gen V Viper ACR , supercharged Lamborghini and twin turbo Lamborghini.

Tune , drag radials and it's a 9.4 car

You know what you're probably right. I mean think of the weight savings you'd have in the P1 without that extra 800k you would've saved weighing the 720s down!
