For how much every mag has bragged about how good the ZL1 is .39 second faster than a GT350 is pretty

If you're a bolt ons/pully/tune kinda guy, I don't think the gt350 will even come close to the numbers the ZL1 will put down if its anything like the c7z to mod.

Gotta love how light the gt350 is though. I can see why it's the better track car.

You are right... The track purposed car with track suspension + no back seats + no air conditioning that costs more being slower is no big deal.
