Not what I'm saying, I'm saying, is it so hard to believe that they were able to get the current AWD system in the LX platform, to handle HC power? The GC and the LX platform are obviously not the same, and to think you could just fit the GC AWD in the LX platform would be stupid.

I don't think they ever put SRT power through AWD on any of the LX platform cars was because, they didn't see a point. They had the GC SRT to do that, and just stopped there. The AWD system in the Magnum's and Chargers was about all weather performance.

Fair enough, still doubt its happening. Also the modded SRT8 jeeps even from the 1st gen have been sending insane amounts of hp through them for a while.

Just seems weird having 315's on the front, and hyping the drag strip. If it was to fight the Z/28, completely explains it, but to my knowledge, nothing has been shown on a road course, just the strip.

Huh? Nothing about a challenger is for autocross. they are too damn heavy. If they wanted to trash a Z28 all they would have had to do is make it way lighter it already had what like 200hp on the Z28.

I dont see how this would be aimed at a road course car like a z28 or gt350.

Dodge is capable of big hp and straight line racing with these pigs not twistys.

Viper takes that duty but they killed those too.

I wonder what sort of waivers you have to sign buying a car with drag radials.

Otherwise, some moron will drive off in the rain, wreck one a quarter mile from the dealership and sue for unsafe tires.

Exactly, and that's why I'm saying there's every reason to think it's AWD based on the front tires alone. No reason to put 315 slicks on all 4 corners, if it's not. Going for street car 0-60 record?!

hold on lemme make people think my mustang is awd by slapping some dr's on all 4.....

edit. geee i think more likely the big bitch has drs on all 4 because it offers more GRIP not because its AWD.

Huh? wouldnt 4 sticky drs be better on a road course than some junk all seasons? i dont get what youre saying.

Why not some random 315 all-season or summer's on the front then. Fills out the wheels wells the same as the DR's.

at the stupidity of the NASCAR comment...also you are not a manufacturer...you can do whatever you want with your car, people are just going to think you're dumb if you put DR's on the front of the car. Manufacturers have reasons why they do things...what other logical reason can you postulate as to why they would put DR's on the front tires?

DR's and road course slicks/radials are so completely different. That's why.

Nah. Drag radials have soft sidewalls and ruin handling. Steering feel, responsiveness. All garbage with a soft DR. The sidewall stiffness has similar effects to running a stiffer or softer spring.

Road race tires have a stiff sidewall to turn on, drag radials are soft top enlarge your contact patch in a straight line. Low profile all seasons would turn better than drag radials.

Any grip you would gain from a drag radial, you would lose in sidewall flex.

New Jeep Cherokees are AWD, and they've been unibodies since the early 2000's.

Lol, a drag radial would absolutely suck on a road course. Dodge has already said this will be a straight line beast.

Trying to argue his point and has no actual knowledge on the subject. I was stupid for assuming he had even a fleeting notion on DR's, DS's, road race slicks, road race radials, all-season, etc. Shame on me

screw the road course. DR's should be stock on all these kinds of cars.
