2017 Bugatti Chiron: This Is Pretty Much It

Well, look at that. The same day Bugatti drops the official name of the Veyron successor, intrepid spy photographers get the best look at the car to date. Meet the 2017 Bugatti Chiron, or at least, most of it.

This appears to be a high-level pre-production test car, but it also gives us the clearest glimpse we’ve seen yet of the Chiron’s front end and overall shape.

It’s a lot smoother and cleaner than the old Veyron—which I never thought much of in the looks department—and as expected, it definitely takes some cues from the Vision Gran Turismo Concept, even if not as directly as we anticipated.

To recap, the Chiron is expected to use a re-worked quad-turbo W16 engine in excess of 1,500 horsepower, and is anticipated to cost more than $2.5 million. It’s coming soon to the Geneva Motor Show and then valet parking at Monaco right after that.

Looks like a Veyron had sex with the Hennessey Venom and then drank a TON during the pregnancy and you got this.

Even though the Hennessey car beat the Veyron for top speed, the Veyron is much more refined. I can only assume it'll be faster than the Hennessey car by enough where they won't risk dying trying to re-break the record. Which is OK by me.

The front is awful, but I really like the side profile and rear, a lot more swoopy and less bulbous than the Veyron

I'm assuming those aren't the factory lights, and are just add-on's for the test mule...I'll definitely change my opinion if they do end up being on the production car

thats just bad. It can be as fast and refined as it wants to be, its still stupid expensive and ugly. I'd rather have a slower, uncomfortable 2g ford gt over this any day of the week and spend 10x less on it while turning more heads.

Its not terrible. The front looks pretty mean, or at least in the picture. I generally don't like cars that are all curvy like this. McLaren P1 is another example.

I'd rock the hell out of it. And yes, take off that front plate. I don't even use a front plate on my grocery getter.

Bugatti is a status symbol, of course you could go faster for cheaper, and get something more luxurious, but you are buying the name and the status.

To most of us, it's not important, but for vein narcissists, it's perfect.

I think it looks alright. I generally like sharp angled super cars but this isn't bad in all black.
